What is Attendant Care?
There are two variations of this service: "Attendant Care" and "Attendant Care Supervision."
Attendant Care provides assistance to the client with personal care tasks that he/she cannot do independently, such us feeding, toileting, bathing, grooming, meal preparation, etc.
Attendant Care Supervision provides constant supervision for individuals that cannot safely be left alone. This variation of the service does not involve doing any personal care tasks. Unlike Respite services, Attendant Care Supervision can be used while parents are at work.
Who Receives Attendant Care?
Attendant Care services can be approved for individuals of various ages and disabilities that meet DDD’s qualifying criteria, after the support coordinator completes a needs assessment.

AZA United strives to provide high levels of support for Attendant Care providers and families, to ensure that so that individuals receive high quality reliable care.
Funding Options
Attendant Care services are authorized by the Arizona Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). The number of hours approved are based on the needs assessment conducted by DDD for each individual child. To be eligible for funding, families must be approved through Arizona Long Term Care Services (ALTCS). We have a Family Support Team here at AZA that is available to assist families at no cost through the process of applying for ALTCS eligibility and requesting services through DDD.
